Taika Asfaw is a medical doctor with notable leadership and expertise in managing complex health programs. She has significant experience in emergency healthcare systems, health system analysis, program design, and innovative health solutions. At the Ministry of Health and Ethiopian Public Health Institute, she played a key role in national projects such as establishing pre-hospital emergency systems, implementing Health Management Information Systems, conducting emergency healthcare financing analyses, and enhancing community engagement and branding efforts. Additionally, she was instrumental in the national COVID-19 preparedness and response initiatives. As a consultant for USAID-funded projects, she led the digitization of EMT and MDR-TB tracking systems. Taika's work in low and middle-income settings showcases her ability to strengthen health systems through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and program management.
